The Expendables 2010 Dual Audio 720p 1080p If you're a fan of all things 1980s, The Expendables is the movie for you. It's a throwback to all those action movies from the glamorous era of filmmaking when there was no CGI and everything had to be done with physical stunts and costumed extras. In this feature, Sylvester Stallone takes on an entirely new role as Barney Ross, alongside fellow veterans Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture and Bruce Willis. They're joined by newcomers Terry Crews and Maggie Q in a quest to overthrow a Latin American dictator who has been stockpiling weapons used by guerillas in Central America. Throw in some explosions, some testosterone and lots of guns, and you've got an entertaining action flick. The story of The Expendables drips with testosterone, centered on the quest of Barney (Stallone), leader of an elite team of mercenaries called the Expendables. Barney is joined by his loyal colleague Lee Christmas (Jason Statham) and newcomers Yin Yang (Jet Li), Hale Caesar (Terry Crews) and Toll Road (Randy Couture). When negotiations between two warring countries break down, Barney accepts a contract to take out a South American dictator who has been supplying arms to rebels in neighboring countries, but he needs more men - so he looks to his old colleagues for support. Barney is forced to turn to the past as he makes some new friends and some new enemies as he gets closer to shutting down the dictator. First of all, I have to say that the sheer number of stars was a bit overwhelming. You have some big names from Hollywood's heyday - from Sly Stallone and Dolph Lundgren, to Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mickey Rourke and Bruce Willis - so you know you're going to get a cocktail of action and humor. But at the same time, it left me wondering why some of these actors were here - Bruce Willis had very little screen time, which was disappointing considering his participation in Die Hard and Die Hard 2, both iconic films of the 1980s. And while I love the Expendables, the absence of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sly Stallone was a bit upsetting - you can't have a movie like this and not include these two icons. But all that aside, The Expendables is still an action-packed fun action movie - but it kind of goes against its own purpose by including multiple gunfights in the middle of its plot. This isn't a movie about big guns, or big explosions - it's about fast-paced action and stunts. But at the same time, I like watching movies like this because they are about having fun - their plot is secondary. And if you approach The Expendables with this mentality, you'll enjoy yourself thoroughly. There's very little plot - it's all about the action and the cast. And really, there are only two things you need to know: 1. It's a star-studded cast: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis were sorely missed, but I don't think they were missed as much as CGI would have been. 2. It's an explosive action movie: The explosions and the gunfights were pretty over-the-top, but that's what made it fun to watch. It was stupid, but it had a campy feel that made you forget about thinking rationally for a few hours. cfa1e77820
